Great Oaks Elementary School 
“Dear H-E-B, We are 3rd grade students at Great Oaks Elementary and STAAR test is coming. This is our first year taking the test, and we are pretty nervous.”
So starts the letter Lakshmi and Emma penned to their local HEB suggesting they change the name and write positive messages on the new HEB Lone Star crackers to encourage student confidence. The letter was forwarded to the San Antonio offices by local HEB manager, Jordan Jones, where it was well received and closely followed with a delivery of two pallets of the snack crackers to Great Oaks!
Principal, Heath Frazer was impressed with the girls’ initiative. “They’ve made something really incredible happen.”
The crackers have been distributed to all classrooms and students are enjoying them across the campus. Thanks so much to HEB and Emma and Lakshmi! You’re all stars in our book!
