GOES_Meteorologist, Hunter Williams, Talks Hurricanes with First Grade

Great Oaks welcomed KVUE Chief Meteorologist, Hunter Williams, on Monday, November 13th.

Students in first grade learn a lot about the weather. They record and describe information such as temperature, cloud coverage, and wind conditions. Vocabulary words include hot, cold, cool, warm, rainy, icy, clear, cloudy, calm, and windy among many others. First graders learn to identify wind as moving air that is all around them.

Mr. Williams’s Monday visit had plenty to teach about wind! He shared great pictures and information about hurricanes; how they are formed and also how they’re identified and studied. Students asked great questions and the day was full of learning for everybody.

Thank you, Hunter Williams!
